Life Before Fame

Pitbull
is a successful singer and songwriter born in Miami, Florida on January 15, 1981. His
parents are from Cuba and migrated to the United States in the late 1970s. In his early life, he
frequently moved around after his parents separated in 1985. He eventually started down a dark
road (selling drugs) which led his mom to kick him out at 16.

His Rise to Fame

It wasn’t until his high school teacher drama teacher helped him realize his talent. Her name
was Hope Martinez and she helped him get an opportunity to rap battle someone from the Ruff
Ryder crew. From there he began to pursue a rap career and took on the stage name Pitbull.
His efforts caught the eyes of Luke Campbell who helped Pitbull grow his career. And in 2003 he signed with TVT Records.
